More than my Status

On 9 March, 2016, in Health and Wellness, Speaking Engagements, Training, by Cindy Pivacic

Balance & Bounce

Being more than my HIV status and having had to deal with numerous lifestyle changes, health issues and experiences has taken this page to another level.

The fact that I have researched and adapted my lifestyle, diet and many other facets of life, has given life to the alternative services I offer.

Services & Experience:

Trauma & Lay Counsellor covering a spectrum of in-house issues relating to employee well-being.

* Healthy Eating (the why’s of obesity which leads to high BP and heart disease)

* Employee dynamics

* Bullying

* Rape and Abuse

* Alcohol abuse

* Relationships

* HIV Counselling

Furthermore, I Train and Speak on Counselling, ‘CHOICES’ and ‘HIV & AIDS in the Workplace’.

  1. CHOICES

Book title: ‘Error Terror & Triumph’ Subtitle: Learn before you Leap

This talk is targeted on the youth but not exclusively as it is valuable to one and all and particularly beneficial when entering adult life and the working world, enlightening individuals of potential pitfalls, panics and pleasures that could occur and how to avoid or embrace the lesson.

Each chapter of the 26 lessons starts with a letter of the alphabet i.e. ‘A’ – Action, followed up with a factual experience.

Ending with a maximum of 140 characters which is easily shared on Twitter of the #LifeLesson I learnt from this experience.

  1. HIV & AIDS Training & Awareness

Book title: ‘The Deadly Seducer‘

An account of my story about how I came to contract HIV & AIDS and how I responded to it.

Not only am I living healthy years later, but my energetic character has been poured into helping others experiencing the same situation.

I present talks and workshops on living positively with HIV & AIDS and those, with this book and my online presence, provides me the opportunity to create awareness, give testimony concerning the HIV & AIDS pandemic, and to assist in de-stigmatising this secret killer’.

BEYOND ridiculous!! SARS Sucks

On 28 January, 2016, in Uncategorized, by Cindy Pivacic

After I received an email stating that my NPO Registration has been rejected by SARS for the 2nd time, SIX visits and around FIFTEEN phone-calls I eventually discover ANOTHER HUMAN error!

The first, was them incorrectly loading my NPO number and then having the audacity to be rude and condescending when I told them so, telling me I am wrong and there was no human error, the person loaded correctly, Sybil said!!

BS, I get home and try to log on, NADA, not correct….I was right, go back to the freaking queue and it gets fixed without an apology.

YAY…I come home and guess what, registration rejected AGAIN!!

I’m on it, efiling phone-call…….AHA, the morons, after I had to go to FNB on my FIRST visit and have a bank statement printed to prove I have an account,only to find after the complaint I lodged today, was rejected yet AGAIN. They STILL have my (old 2011) ABSA account on record!!!!

All that parking, out of pocket around R200….who will cover the costs, ME of course. Early to their offices and there for hours, productivity lost, EISH!

It took me SIX years after diagnosis in 2004 to go public with my HIV status. It was not easy……

Today it is FIVE years since taking that plunge!

My thanks to ALL the people that supported this event and to those that have paved the way for me since, your presence has been unwavering.

Many Thanks to:

Charlotte Kemp and Shawn Fouche for sponsoring my website and ‘forcing’ me to:

SPEAK OUT

My Mother of course deserves more than anyone, my thanks, as she has been my, in her words, ‘biggest fan’ since going public.

I look forward to many healthy years and support going forward as I still have plenty to do!

Viber Invite & Press Release

On 19 January, 2016, in Health and Wellness, Media, Resource, Training, by Cindy Pivacic

Game On!

My quote for Viber Press Release Today

“We’re in a new era of HIV care and prevention”, says Cindy Pivacic, HIV Speaker, Trainer and Activist. “Viber Public Chats represent an ideal platform for spreading messages and debating HIV issues.” Cindy’s decision to go public with her status was prompted by her own experience with the disease. After acquiring numerous illnesses associated with HIV and AIDS, Cindy realised that she would not cope without the help of others. “Through the use of Viber Public Chats, I hope to bring together a group of people who have experiences to share and discuss HIV knowledge, stigma and prevention and ultimately call on people to get tested.”
